Glagow boss calls for 16th man

Sean Lineen has urged Glasgow supporters to play their part in setting the scene for a famous Heineken Cup victory on Sunday.
The Scottish challengers meet 2006 tournament runners-up Biarritz at Firhill, knowing that victory would keep them firmly on track for a quarter-final place.

Glasgow have never reached the Heineken Cup knockout stage, yet victory over Viadana and a bonus point loss against Saracens means they are in the Pool Four shake-up.

Glasgow coach Lineen said: "Biarritz will be tough, but these are the games that we live for.

"They only just beat Viadana away on the opening weekend, and Biarritz have a brilliant home record, but thankfully we have got them first at 'Fortress Firhill'.

"We will need the crowd behind us.

"It is not a big crowd, but those who do come and support us make a lot of noise, and we are getting them on our side by winning.

"They can be the 16th man which could give us the edge."

Glasgow have only recorded three victories from 14 starts against French sides in the Heineken Cup, but Biarritz are struggling to move through the gears this season and they are without injured scrum-half talisman Dimitri Yachvili this weekend.

Lineen added: "We know we are up against a quality team, but there is nothing to be afraid of, and we have to go out with the belief we can win.

"We have had a detailed look at them. We have lots of contacts in France, so we've done our analysis - we know what to expect from them."
