Barbarians coach Eddie O’Sullivan was impressed by his side’s defensive heroics during their 22-5 victory over World Champions South Africa at Twickenham.
The Baa-Baas withstood a barrage from Jake White’s team in the final quarter having demonstrated their mesmerising running skills before the interval.

Matt Giteau, Martyn Williams and Rocky Elsom crossed for the invitational team, showing some dazzling skills in the process, before shutting up shop when South Africa pounded away at their line.

Ireland boss O’Sullivan said: “All credit to the boys. We talked in the week about the Barbarians ethos, but we played both types of the football.”
