Street turns his attentions to France clash at Twickenham
13 February 2013, 11:13 am

England Women's head coach Gary Street insists his side's first defeat in 20 RBS 6 Nations matches has been shelved as they look to maintain their 100 per cent record at Twickenham next Saturday.
England’s 25-0 defeat to Ireland on Saturday was the first time they had suffered a Six Nations loss since 2009 and the first time in nine years they had failed to score a point.

It was also Ireland’s first ever win over England and it leaves Street’s side with work to do as they bid to claim an eighth successful RBS 6 Nations title.

Street offered no excuses in defeat, praising Ireland for their victory and resisting the temptation to blame the fact that England are without a host of senior players who are currently focusing on their Sevens campaign.

And he revealed England’s clash with France is now their number one focus as the defending champions look to get back to winning ways.

“We’re obviously massively disappointed with the result, but Ireland were excellent – they dominated us,” said Street.

“They upped their game from last week and we just couldn’t deal with it. We’ll look at the video of this one and then move on and put all of our focus on the France game.”
