Katy McLean scored a wonderful solo try as England secured the Grand Slam at Esher
Street eager to take England women forward

England women's coach Gary Street admitted he was already looking towards the future after his side sealed a seventh straight RBS 6 Nations title and a third successive Grand Slam.
Ireland were the latest victims of the English juggernaut as they fell 23-6, as England became the first team in the Championship’s history to go a whole tournament without conceding a try.

Katy McLean and Amy Turner added a try apiece to seal the win for the home side at Esher as they followed up their series win over New Zealand in style.

Street said: “I’m just really proud of them – winning seven titles is massive. Not conceding a try in the Six Nations is huge. I’m proud of not just winning, but it’s the things the girls do – I’m really proud of them.

“We were expecting a massive challenge from Ireland, we know their players inside out and their first XV is a really good side. It’s their best ever side and performance I’d say.”

“Half-time there was no panic though. I thought second-half we got really on top, we needed a bit of tweaking and I like keeping the girls on their toes. I thought the last 20 minutes we really dominated them.

“I’ll be going through the videos and seeing if we can get better again. It’s great going to Twickenham to parade the trophy as well. They’ll be in the video room as they are after every game. We’ll have forgotten all about it and be looking ahead – that’s the standards we set.”
