Scotland’s success has largely been built on solid if unspectacular displays, notably in the 12-8 win over Ireland at Murrayfield.
But having scored four tries in the win over Italy and two at Twickenham in the 38-18 loss against England on the opening weekend of the Championship, Visser believes Scotland have shown they do possess a running game.
And, while that will not be the game plan against a France side looking to end a disappointing campaign with a win, Visser – who crossed the whitewash against Italy – is keen to stress the strength in the Scottish ranks.
“France are like a wounded animal right now and if they suddenly click they could be the best team in the world,” said Visser.
“So we have to be very careful and make sure there is a certain element of structure to our game, otherwise it’s going to be sevens and we don’t want that either.
“But we want to show them that we can match them. Looking at the assets we have in the back five, and our back row with Johnnie Beattie in there, we have a lot of ball-players in our team so an open game is not something we are scared of at this stage in the Championship.”
