The Ospreys stand-off is set to start a third consecutive international for the first time in his career when Rob Howley’s side travel to Rome to take on Italy next weekend.

Rhys Priestland’s Achilles injury cleared a path for Biggar to return to Wales duty, the 23-year-old preferred to James Hook at No.10.

And after his chip to the corner set up George North’s match-winning try, Biggar insists there is plenty more to come from him and his teammates as they look to make amends for their opening round defeat to Ireland.

“You don’t learn by sitting on the bench or in the stand,” he said.

“You learn from being out in the heat of battle and getting used to the tempo of the game.

“Playing week-in, week-out is when I feel I play my best. I’m a player who likes being in a rhythm that playing regularly gives you.

“The experience has been unbelievable and it’s a real privilege to play with that shirt (10) on your back.

“It’s something I want to try and keep hold of and build on because it means very little if we don’t build on a great victory out in Paris.

“It’s especially important in any side to play your first-choice half-backs as much as you can, as long as their form is good.

“And I thoroughly enjoyed it from minute one to 80. I’m under no illusions my performance was perfect.

“There were errors in there, but in games like that there are going to be some, and I think we made a couple fewer than France and managed to edge it.”
