The last few years have seen the 32-year-old fail to settle at any one club with short-term spells at the likes of Saracens, Toulon, Cardiff Blues and London Welsh.
But he appears to have found some stability at the Rec and with a World Cup on the horizon next autumn, Henson admits he would love to be able to pull on the red jersey again soon.
"I will never close the door on my country," he said.
"As long as I'm playing, I'm still available. Whether or not that's closed on the other side of the bridge, I'm not sure.
"I still love Wales and although I live and work over here now, I go back two or three nights a week to see my kids.
"When I was at the Ospreys, I thought I would always be at the Ospreys. Everything seemed fine. Then, like a lot of people, I went through a difficult time which affected my rugby. To be honest, I couldn't cope with it."
