However he was forced off after just six minutes of Cardiff’s Heineken Cup clash with Sale on Sunday having dislocated his finger.

Despite that Blues director of rugby Phil Davies is optimistic that Warburton will be available for Sunday’s clash with Toulon at the Cardiff Arms Park.

He said: “He has gone to hospital to have it sorted out. Hopefully he will be back available for next weekend's game against Toulon.”

Meanwhile London Welsh coach Lyn Jones has played down talk of Gavin Henson making an international return despite an impressive start to his career with the Exiles.

The fly-half was one of the few players to emerge with credit after a 68-19 thrashing at home to Stade Français at the weekend in the Amlin Challenge Cup, having also impressed against Saracens the previous week.

But while Jones is delighted with the start Henson has made, he insists it is premature to be talking about an international return.

He said: “Look, it's two matches in and we need to bide our time a bit, enable him to settle in and play. Then we'll see what comes of it.

“I thought Gavin held us together at No 10. I'm just really pleased for him and the way he has taken on responsibility in the changing room and stood up.”
