Thomas eyes Irish upset

Flanker Jonathan Thomas believes Wales can rescue their frustrating RBS 6 Nations campaign by ruining Ireland's Triple Crown ambitions.
Following narrow defeats against England and France and a miraculous comeback against Scotland, Wales’ campaign has failed to get off the ground

They visit Croke Park this weekend in a bid to derail the Irish, who are back on track following their 20-16 victory over England last time out.

And Thomas said: “International rugby is about winning and we know we are under-achieving.

“We are better than the table shows and we should have beaten France and England.

“It is up to us to sort it out. It is easier to take when you lose to a side that is better than you.

“We know we can turn it on and play good rugby against any side in the world.

“If we play a bit smarter, we will be in charge of our own destiny and we are not far away from being a top team.”
