Hook urges teammates to take their chances
Hook calls for Wales improvements

James Hook believes Wales must vastly improve their finishing if their RBS 6 Nations campaign is to have any chance of success,
The 24-year-old was among the tries against England on Saturday but he couldn’t stop his side’s Six Nations battle beginning on a losing note - Wales went down 30-17.

And with Scotland the visitors at the Millennium Stadium this weekend Hook has called on his teammates to follow his lead and start converting chances into tries.

He said: “The trouble is we are a side that creates opportunities, but sometimes we struggle to finish.

“That's something we're always working on and we showed in the second half what we can do when we get a bit of possession and just relax and play a bit of rugby.

“Even when we went down by 17 points I thought when we created the chances and got the ball a bit wider we looked threatening.

“As we showed in the second half, when we did get that ball wide we created opportunities and scored tries.”

The Ospreys star played in the unfamiliar role of outside centre on Saturday after previously representing his country at fly-half, full-back and inside centre.

And he admitted he enjoyed his new role.

“I felt quite comfortable there in attack and defence so it was nice to get the ball in my hands a little bit more than I did in the autumn,” Hook added.
