Charteris has flattered to deceive since winning his first cap as a replacement against South Africa in 2004 but has finally begun to string a run of consistent form together at the Dragons. His height means he is an excellent option at the lineout but he also produces some nice offloads and purposeful carries. There are doubts over whether he has the physicality for this level.
