Ruddock has made three changes and two positional switches from that crucial victory over England.
Darragh Leader comes into the side at full-back for his first appearance of the tournament, while Rory Scannell reverts to the inside centre position with Steve Crosbie returning at out-half.
Josh van der Flier has been named at openside flanker with Ryan Murphy moving to No.8.
Meanwhile, Scotland boss Sean Lineen has made four changes to his starting XV – Ruaridh Young, Robbie Fergusson, Callum Black and Alex Henderson all coming in.
But Ruddock knows they can’t take their hosts lightly, he said: “We are pleased to have banked a win against England but that's behind us now as we attempt to defeat a much improved Scotland side under Sean Lineen.
“The Scottish side are very well coached and on their own patch they will be a very difficult hurdle to overcome.”
Wales head into their clash with Italy in Viterbo having won their opening two games, but head coach Danny Wilson has made five changes from their 27-13 triumph over France.
Gareth Thomas and Ethan Lewis both get starts in the front row while there are three changes in the backs.
Centre Thomas Pascoe, wing Aaron Warren and full back Jordan Williams all come into the starting XV against an Italian side who have lost both of their two games so far.
Elsewhere, on Saturday England will be looking to bounce back to winning ways against France in Worcester and their side shows three changes from the defeat against Ireland.
Hooker Nathan Morris, prop Kyle Sinckler and flanker Harry Wells come in looking to reverse last year's result where they fell to a 12-8 defeat in Vannes, while Toulouse centre Gael Fickou starts for France.
