Wales Under-20s taking nothing for granted in Italy
19 February 2013, 6:54 pm
By Sportsbeat
Wales Under-20s team manager Mark Taylor insists there will be no complacency when they head to Italy despite five changes to the side.
The Welsh are the only team still on course for an RBS 6 Nations Grand Slam, having seen off Ireland and France in their opening two matches.

They now face an encounter in Viterbo on Friday night with an Italian side still searching for a first win of the competition.

Head coach Danny Wilson has chosen to bring Aaron Warren, Jordan Williams and Thomas Pascoe into the backline, while Gareth Thomas and Ethan Lewis will start in the front row.

However despite the change in personnel, Tayloris adamant the team cannot afford to lose focus.

He said: “We have made some changes to see certain combinations while keeping the backbone of the side unchanged in terms of the half backs, back row and second row.

“It’s going to be another tough challenge for us on Friday. Italy are a good side, especially at home and after the experience of playing at Clermont Auvergne’s ground a fortnight ago, we are expecting another rousing atmosphere in Viterbo.

“We have made a great start to the tournament but what’s gone is gone, if it’s going to count we have to go out and put in another professional performance on Friday night. Any slacking will be exposed so we must start as we did in France and not give any ground early on if we are to do well.”
