Davies wants Wales to go out on a high

Wales head coach Phil Davies has urged his team to make the most of what will be the majority of his squad's last Under-20 Six Nations match.
Davies has kept faith in the same backline that lost 24-17 to Ireland but has made four changes in the pack with James Thomas and Joe Rees coming in at second-row while Trystan Davies comes in at prop and Ben Thomas is named in the 22 for the first time.

And with a large portion of the squad ineligible for next year’s tournament, Davies has wants them to put a disappointing tournament behind them and concentrate on Friday’s match.

He said: "This will be the last opportunity for 15 of the starting 22 to play in an Under-20 Six Nations game which will no doubt add to the desire of everyone involved to end the campaign on a positive note.

"Looking back at the tournament, we played well in the first half at Kingsholm and showed some fantastic all-round rugby ability against Scotland and France.

“Despite going down 17-0 in the opening 20 minutes of last week's game against Ireland, we scored 17 points in the last quarter to give the game a different slant.

“So despite being disappointed to lose a couple of games, we have shown tremendous character and spirit which sums up this group of players."
