Wales Under-20s bounced back from their disappointing defeat to England by securing a hard-fought 20-12 defeat over Scotland.
Just like they did against England at Kingsholm last week, Wales took an early lead with two well-struck penalties from Ospreys academy starlet Matthew Jarvis giving them a 6-0 advantage.
But despite edging territory and possession Wales could not cross the whitewash and instead it was Scotland who got the game's first try just before the break.
Full-back Tom Brown bustled his way over and Worcester's Oliver Grove added the extras to make it 7-6 at halftime.
But Phil Davies sent his side back out determined to stamp their authority on the game and they soon did as first prop Simon Gardiner barrelled his way over from close range. Jarvis expertly added the extras to put Wales in the driving seat.
It soon got better for the hosts when Rhys Downes finished off an excellent team move and once again Jarvis made no mistake with the boot.
Scotland continued to try and find a way back into the game and eventually they did get a try their enterprising back play deserved when Edinburgh Accies' starlet Brown again demonstrated his finishing abilities.
The score was unconverted and despite Brown's outstanding performance Scotland were left emptyhanded while Wales now have an opportunity to rescue their Championship campaign.
And coach Davies believes both teams deserve credit for their attacking philosophy.
He said: "It was a good open game of rugby and a good advert for U20s Six Nations.
"We had a couple of chances to score a couple more tries but I'm pleased for the boys. We played some good rugby, we tried to move the ball as did Scotland."
