George North is trying to simplify Wales' final RBS 6 Nations clash with England
Wales wing North not getting caught up in hype

George North has vowed not to get caught up in the enormity of the occasion as Wales bid to stop England winning the RBS 6 Nations Grand Slam.
England travel to Cardiff with four wins from four yet Wales can still not only deny them the Grand Slam but also the RBS 6 Nations title.

To do so they need to win by seven points and stay ahead of England on tournament tries to claim a second successive crown at the Millennium Stadium.

Wales’ one and only home game so far was their opening 30-22 defeat to Ireland however they have won all three of their away fixtures since.

But wing North – who has started every match – is stripping the clash down to its bare bones, determined to treat it no different to any other.

“Growing up in Wales as a Welshman, Wales-England is always a big game, isn’t it?” said North.

“Growing up watching it and playing in it at schoolboy level and through the age grade and coming to this level now, it’s a massive game and this week is no different.

“You can’t beat around the fact that it is a big game. But you’ve got to try and take it as your job at the end of the day, so it’s just trying to focus now ready for the weekend.

“If you cut all the emotions out of it, it’s just another game. If you take all the fans away it’s just 15 against 15.

“It’s your job at the end of the day and you’ve just got to make sure your head is in the right place. You’ve got to pull yourself back from the occasion and try and relax.”
