Vern Cotter named six uncapped players in his first Scotland squad
Vern Cotter has named six uncapped players in his 43-man Scotland team for the summer tour - his first selection since taking over the role as head coach.
Scotland will face United States, Canada, Argentina and South Africa, with Cotter naming separate squads for the North American and Southern Hemisphere legs of the tour, with only nine included for the entire schedule.
Glasgow Warriors forwards Gordon Reid, Alex Allan and Kevin Bryce and midfield colleague Finn Russell are joined by London Irish openside Blair Cowan and Edinburgh scrum-half Grayson Hart in seeking their international debuts in June.
Glasgow forward Ryan Grant and Edinburgh pair Matt Scott and Greig Tonks miss out despite featuring in this year's RBS 6 Nations, where Scotland finished fifth.
There is also no place for 56-times capped lock Al Kellock despite being back leading the Glasgow Warriors team following an arm injury that kept him out of the RBS 6 Nations.
Cotter said: "I'm very much looking forward to starting work with the Scotland players as we begin our 16-match countdown to the 2015 Rugby World Cup in England.
"We've included a mix of the battle-hardened and promising new talent and it will be good to see how players step up to tough and different challenges at the end of a long domestic campaign."
After Ireland's heroic big-game hunt of the Springboks and Scotland's six-try runaround of the Pumas, the challenge of engineering the most spectacular win of the autumn series now falls on Wales, writes Peter Jackson.
Wasps director of rugby Dai Young insists it was with Joe Launchbury's best interests in mind that surgery was called for to decompress a nerve in his neck - ruling him out of England' RBS 6 Nations opener.
