Scotland failed to win a single game in the RBS 6 Nations as well as in the autumn internationals but the Dutch-born flyer has been a high point with four tries in his five appearances.

The 24-year-old scored two of those tries against the All Blacks as Scotland went down 51-22 to the world champions.

Visser has also been in fine form for Edinburgh in the RaboDirect PRO12 and is top of the try scoring charts with ten, having finished the league’s top try scorer in each of the previous three seasons.

And having completed his IRB residency ruling to qualify to play for Scotland, Visser was thrilled to bring his fine domestic form onto the international stage for Scotland.

“It has been a massive breakthrough year for me and to be able to replicate my try-scoring form on the international stage has been superb,” said Visser.

“It has taken the pressure off of me as there was criticism that I wouldn't be able to do it.

“I've obviously wanted to keep scoring tries and they do keep on coming so I'm really happy and proud that I'm now top of the try-scoring charts again.”
