Sam Warburton is ahead of schedule in his recovery from injury
Wales captain Sam Warburton admits his rehabilitation from injury has been helped by having teammate Leigh Halfpenny by his side.
Warburton, who dislocated his shoulder in Wales' final 2014 RBS 6 Nations clash against Scotland, says he is ahead of schedule in his recovery.
And the 25-year-old says Halfpenny has been a source of inspiration as both look to get back into action ahead of next season.
"I've been doing my rehab with Leigh Halfpenny, who has had the same injury," Warburton told Wales Online.
"It can be a lonely place doing your rehab programme on your own. We've helped each other through and we are both ahead of schedule, so it's worked out well.
"But they've told me I can't come back any sooner than 16 weeks, no matter how good my progress is. There are certain protocols you have to follow and 16 weeks is the absolute minimum.
"That takes me to July, but there's nothing going on then. So I will look to get a full pre-season and probably start contact training towards the end of July, ready to go for the pre-season matches, if the Blues want me to play in those games. That's the plan so far."
