Mike Phillips featured in all five of Wales' RBS 6 Nations matches earlier this year
Wales scrum-half Mike Phillips is determined to bounce back from a disappointing RBS 6 Nations by helping Warren Gatland's side claim a Test victory over South Africa this summer.
Wales relinquished their RBS 6 Nations title earlier this year, following away defeats to Ireland and England while Phillips was dropped following the loss in Dublin.
An injury to Rhys Webb saw him recalled for the final match against Scotland however and while Wales have lost their last 14 matches against the Springboks, Phillips is confident of ending that run in this summer's two-Test tour.
"It's a great opportunity for us to go down there and get a big scalp," said Phillips.
"Scotland went down there last year and pushed them very, very close.
"And we've done really well against South Africa.
"We obviously haven't beaten them but we've pushed them all the way.
"Hopefully we can really push on and get a result this year. There's no point going down there otherwise."
