Medard started France's RBS 6 Nations opener against England, which saw Les Bleus triumph 26-24 in Paris, but hasn't been called upon by Saint-Andre since.
Without Medard, France first defeated Italy again in Paris but were then humbled by Wales last time out in Cardiff as their unbeaten run was ended by a 27-6 loss.
However Saint-Andre has gone back to the 27-year-old for the trip to Edinburgh - after all he has scored three tries in four career matches against Scotland.
And Medard insists France won't be as foolish at Murrayfield as they were at the Millennium Stadium as they bid to immediately return to winning ways.
"This is typically French; as soon as we start winning, you think you are someone important and you fool yourself," said Medard.
"So now we have go back to reality, make sure we have a strong scrum, that we are good on the sidelines, and as soon as the forwards actually start pushing forward, it makes life so much easier. That's where we are at."
