Bowe returned to action after three months out, dotting down twice before half time as Ulster eased to victory against Newport Gwent Dragons.
The 30-year-old is following Simon Zebo's lead, after the Munster and Ireland wing scored four times in his first three games back from an injury layoff last month.
But as the duo look to work their way into Ireland head coach Joe Schmidt's plans, Bowe insisted he is not looking too far into the future.
"I'm pretty much resigned to the fact that I'm probably going to miss this one, unfortunately," he told the Belfast Telegraph.
"For me personally, just to get 40 minutes - I always knew I'd have to have game-time if I ever wanted to get myself back into the Ireland set-up.
"It was great for me just to get back onto the pitch. I was really hungry for it, I really enjoyed the 40 minutes. The plan all along was just to give me a half and I enjoyed it - it was great to be back out there again."
