Hogg admits he was frustrated that Edinburgh did not carry out the gameplan set out by coach Andy Robinson.
The Scotland No.8 said: "We didn't play the game the way we wanted to and we let them dictate things. That is the most frustrating aspect. We knew what Glasgow were going to bring; it wasn't as though we were caught off-guard.
"They just out-muscled us at the breakdown and were really direct. Our discipline let us down. We gave them field position and fair play to Dan Parks because he took his two drop goals really well.
"We were just playing in the right areas of the pitch. So any indiscretions that we gave away they managed to capitalise on."
