Head coach Sean Lineen is forced to replace scrum-half Sam Hidalgo-Clyne who suffered a leg injury in their victory against Ireland two weeks ago. As a result, Ali Price starts at scrum-half and Leicester Tigers half-back Scott Steele, comes in on the bench.
Also, making his first start of the tournament is prop Shawn Muir. Finally, Caledonia's Cameron Turner returns on the bench.
Lineen said: "Friday's game is going to be a big challenge, but this group of players currently has momentum and belief and they are desperate to do well.
"This is a chance to measure ourselves against the only unbeaten team in the 6 Nations so far, and they are also in our Junior World Championship pool.
"Wales have a big set-piece and they are talented ball players. It's imperative that we're disciplined and focused on Friday.
"We're looking forward to the trip to Inverness and hope we'll have a big support behind us."
Stirling County hooker Reyner Kennedy will travel as 24th man.
