Flanker Gavin Thomas subsequently came into the Test team as injury cover but 27-year-old centre Gomer-Davies, who played for Wales from under-16 to under-21 level, says the Dragons only have themselves to blame for not having further representation.
"We need to have a season with the Dragons where we are winning week in and week out," said Gomer-Davies.
"Players in teams who are doing well tend to be looked at more favourably and if we do that I think there will be a number of Dragons players getting a look in.
"We had a couple of poor seasons, but this season we were much better and we started playing the kind of rugby we wanted to, throwing the ball around more.
"We are definitely looking to improve on that this season. We want to get out of our group in the Heineken Cup and hopefully make the play-offs in the Magners."
