Initial concerns were that loosehead prop Jenkins could be doubtful for Wales' autumn internationals against Australia, South Africa and New Zealand but Young insists his ankle injury isn't as serious as first feared.
Shanklin took a blow to the head but Young said: "Gethin rolled his ankle again and is limping about a bit but we hope it's nothing.
"It doesn't appear to be anything too serious and we don't think he needs an x-ray or a scan. Tom took the ball up and collided with two or three players and took a bang on the head.
"We took him off as a precaution. We should know where the both of them are and have a clearer picture on how they are later this week."
