Gavin Henson
Centre recovered from six weeks on sidelines with fractured cheekbone
Henson set to make first start for London Welsh

Representing Wales again couldn't be further from Gavin Henson's mind as he gets set to make his first start for London Welsh in the Premiership on Sunday.
The 30-year-old centre joined the newly-promoted Premiership outfit in the close season having last turned out for the Cardiff Blues in the PRO12.

However he has been forced to wait to play any part for London Welsh after suffering a fractured cheekbone in a pre-season clash with the Scarlets back in August.

But Henson is back fully fit and has been named in the Exiles’ starting XV for their Premiership clash with Saracens – whom he a handful of appearances for during the 2010-11 season.

London Welsh are currently exceeding expectations in the Premiership having picked up two wins from their first five games in their first-ever top-flight season.

They welcome Saracens to the Kassam Stadium having lost to Gloucester last time out and Henson insists his number one priority is to get London Welsh back to winning ways.

“I am really looking forward to making my first start for London Welsh,” said Henson – who last played for Wales in August 2011 and hasn’t featured in the RBS 6 Nations since 2009.

“Having been given the opportunity by Lyn Jones and the club to play in the Premiership, it was both disappointing and frustrating to pick up an injury against Scarlets in pre-season.

“However, the boys have done really well in the first five games and now I just cannot wait to start playing my part with the rest of the team.

“I am also very excited about playing at the Kassam in front of the London Welsh supporters for the first time.

“Saracens are an extremely good side, we know that, but this is a great opportunity both for me and for London Welsh to test ourselves against one of the best teams in the Premiership.”
