Japan, hosts of the 2019 World Cup, will be Scotland’s first opponents on November 9 at a yet to be named venue with the contest to be given full cap honours.
Scotland and Japan last met in a non-cap encounter as part of the former’s preparations for their summer tour to Argentina in 2010 with South Africa next up afterwards at Murrayfield.
And a clash with Australia, who Scotland beat 9-6 the last time the two sides met in June last year, again at Murrayfield, concluding their autumn series.
Scotland played New Zealand, South Africa and Tonga during the autumn of 2012 before finishing third in the RBS 6 Nations behind winners Wales and runners-up England.
And Scottish Rugby’s Director of Commercial Operations, Communications and Public Affairs, Dominic McKay, said: “We’re delighted to be able to confirm our Test matches for this November and are finalising some special season-long ticket packages for our supporters at present.
“This season our cumulative attendance for Murrayfield Test matches was more than 300,000, which speaks volumes both for the depth of support for an improving Scotland team and also for our determination to structure our ticket prices so that we give every family in Scotland the opportunity to watch international rugby in the flesh.”
