After Rory Scholes had finished off a sweeping move by touching down in the corner with just four minutes remaining, breaking a resolute English defence which was a man light after Ross Moriarty’s earlier sending off, Daly stepped up to kick the conversion to go in front.
With that tricky kick out wide, Daly secured the 16-15 victory to leave this season’s RBS 6 Nations championship wide open with only Wales now holding a 100 percent record after two games.
And man-of-the-match Daly believes his side are now very much back in the title race with a trip away to Scotland next up.
"We knew we could beat England,” said Daly. “We talked about it all week, we've beaten them as Under-18s and Under-19s.
“We didn't talk much about the sending-off, we just knuckled down and got on with it. Our pack really fronted up. They were amazing again, like they were last week (in Wales).
"[With the conversion] I just tried to blank everything out. I've done it in training. I treated it like it was just another kick and thankfully it went over.
“And now the RBS 6 Nations is all open again and hopefully we're back on the road to the Championship."
