Robinson calls for killer instinct

Coach Andy Robinson believes Scotland can find their killer instinct and end their RBS 6 Nations campaign on a high with victory over Ireland.
Scotland must beat the reigning Grand Slam champions to stand any chance of lifting themselves off the bottom of the table.

Last week’s 15-15 draw against England saw them secure their first point of the campaign although no tries were scored from either team at Murrayfield.

And Robinson insists his troops need to learn to convert their pressure into tries when they travel to Croke Park on Saturday.

“We’re here to win games and that’s the first thing I’m expected to do,” said Robinson.

“However, no-one’s going to roll over and allow you to score. We’ve got to keep playing all the way through to the try-line: that’s the key message.

“The way we’re trying to play is to win games; it’s not to look pretty but it’s to create chances and win.

“I’m pleased with the way we are trying to play - you could see a number of chances created at the weekend.

“We asked the England defence a lot of questions. The problem for us at the moment is that when we get close to the line, we’re not thinking clearly enough and not keeping the composure to play with that shape.”
