The Official Online RBS 6 Nations Store is open. The store has everything you need to get behind your team during the RBS 6 Nations, plus the store is now fully stocked with a much wider range of rugby merchandise.
Care’s sole start in this year’s RBS 6 Nations was in England’s win over Italy with Youngs returning for the defeat to Wales in Cardiff.
But, with Warren Gatland’s squad selection now less than two weeks away, O’Shea has stoked the fire, pouring praise on his livewire scrum-half.
“Danny is an absolute magician on the rugby field as he is a magnificent player,” he said.
“The Lions must take him; he will be brilliant on the hard pitches in Australia.”
While that selection headache might be a problem for another day, England head coach Stuart Lancaster will not have been pleased with the injury picked up by his captain Chris Robshaw at Sixways.
The flanker appeared to roll his ankle but O’Shea insists the injury is far from serious. He said: “Chris came down on his ankle and twisted it, it is swollen but he will be fine.”
Another budding England back rower, Will Fraser, also suffered a knock this weekend in Saracens’ defeat to Gloucester.
The flanker went off after only 15 minutes off the game with a shoulder problem and looks set to miss his side’s Heineken Cup semi-final next weekend, placing his spot on England’s summer tour to Argentina in jeopardy as well.
“Will is going to go for a MRI scan, and we will know more after that,” Saracens director of rugby Mark McCall said.
“It would be a big loss. He has had a great season, but we have got some decent back-rowers to cover.”
