Wilkinson signs new Toulon contract

England fly-half Jonny Wilkinson has put pen to paper on a new one-year contract extension with Top 14 side Toulon.
The 30-year-old who is expected to start for England in the No.10 shirt during the RBS 6 Nations has enjoyed a successful stay in the south of France since moving from Newcastle Falcons in May 2009.

This season Wilkinson tops the individual scoring charts in France with Toulon flying high in the league.

There had been rumours several Premiership clubs were lining up a move to bring Wilkinson back to England but the record-breaking stand-off has put that speculation to bed by committing his future to Mourad Boudjellal’s big-spending outfit.
