The versatile 22-year-old, who featured in three of Scotland’s RBS 6 Nations matches earlier this year, started at No.10 for Glasgow and kicked two conversions and a penalty.
However, Weir knows he is still recovering from his spell on the sidelines and admits he faces a challenge to overhaul club and country colleague Jackson.
“It was just good to be involved in the matchday experience again,” he said.
“I was getting the ball through my hands fairly well, and that was the plan, to keep it simple and not try to do too much in my first game back.
“Jacko was playing great at the start of the season, so I was just grateful to get the run and manage to sneak a wee run at nine as well, which was good fun.”
