Lock Lawes replaces James Haskell at blindside flanker for the clash against winless France at Twickenham while Manu Tuilagi and Dylan Hartley are the other new additions.
Haskell appeared off the bench as England began their RBS 6 Nations campaign with a victory against Scotland before starting the win over Ireland.
He drops back to the bench while Billy Twelvetrees, who made his England debut against Scotland, follows suit as he swaps roles with Tuilagi.
After missing the first Test through injury Tuilagi was a replacement against Ireland but now starts with Hartley a straight replacement for Tom Youngs.
Like Haskell and Twelvetrees, Youngs is one of the eight replacements and head coach Lancaster is adamant the changes will have a positive impact on the unbeaten squad.
“We thought long and hard about changing a winning team which did so well against Ireland,” said Lancaster.
“But we believe that Dylan, Courtney and Manu are ready for the opportunity and allow us to vary our play, while the bench will add impact and energy as the game unfolds in the second half.
“The players are really looking forward to getting back to Twickenham; the atmosphere in the stadium is fantastic and hopefully the crowd can get behind us in what is sure to be a great challenge against a motivated and physical French team.”
