Munro gets to grips with new laws

Glasgow Warriors assistant coach Shade Munro believes pre-season friendlies are the perfect way for the squad to get to grips with the game's new laws.
Experimental Law Variations are poised to be introduced this season, mainly in an attempt to create a more flowing, attractive spectacle.

It will be more difficult to dominate and win a game with merely a rolling maul and an accurate penalty kicker as attacking weapons.

Glasgow’s players were given a chance to adapt to the ELVs in their pre-season games in France during the XV Challenge Vaquerin tournament and at home to Bristol.

Former Scotland lock Munro said: "It is a very positive exercise from an experimental point of view. Around 25 players have played in our games and they have all got a decent amount of game time.
”It was also a good opportunity to try out some of the new ELVs (Experimental Law Variations), an opportunity we wouldn’t otherwise have had, had we not had these games."
