Glasgow head coach Sean Lineen praised the performance of his young players despite the defeat to Bristol in the Warriors' only pre-season game at Firhill.
Glasgow crossed for two tries – through man of the match Lome Fa’atau and Scotland No. 8 Johnnie Beattie – but the English Premiership side prevailed thanks to the boot of Adrian Jarvis.

Richie Vernon created the first try when he charged through the middle before the ball was recycled and Scotland stand-off Dan Parks spun the wide spun ball wide to Fa’atau, who finished with aplomb.

The Warriors scored their second late on after the impressive Max Evans - playing in an unfamiliar outside-centre role - off-loaded to Beattie, who crashed over.

Former Scotland centre Lineen said: “When we were good, we were very good.

“I was very impressed with all the new young guys like Richie Gray, Ruaridh Jackson and Jon Welsh, who all made a significant contribution.”
