Lamont out of Wales clash

Rory Lamont will miss Scotland's RBS 6 Nations clash against Wales after being hit by injuries in the defeat by France.
The 25-year-old, who started at full-back in the 27-6 defeat at Murrayfield, was carried off in the second half with ankle and shoulder problems.

The Sale back’s absence could pave the way for the return of former skipper Chris Paterson, who was left out of Frank Hadden’s starting line-up.

Scotland team doctor James Robson said: “Rory has damaged his left shoulder and left ankle.

“He will require further assessment but will be unavailable for selection for this week’s game in Cardiff.”

Dr Robson added that several other players had sustained “the usual bumps and bruises associated with a Test match” and would require further monitoring and treatment in the coming days.
