England injury update
3 February 2008, 5:41 pm
By Justin Goulding
February 3 2008
Mike Tindall (Gloucester Rugby) sustained bruising to his liver during yesterday's RBS 6 Nations match against Wales and was last night admitted for observation to the Hammersmith Hospital, London.

Mike remains under observation and a further update on his condition will be available tomorrow (Monday) . At this stage he is unlikely to participate in the remainder of the tournament.

David Strettle (Harlequins) sustained an injury to the fifth metatarsal in his left foot while Tom Rees (London Wasps) suffered an injury to the medial collateral ligament of his left knee. Both will undergo further imaging and specialist reviews on Monday.

Lewis Moody (Leicester Tigers) injured his right Achilles tendon and will have further imaging and a specialist review early next week.

Strettle, Rees and Moody will not be fit for selection for Sunday's RBS 6 Nations match against Italy in Rome and have returned to their clubs. The England and club medical teams will be liaising on their futher treatment and rehabilitation.

An update on any call-ups to the squad will be announced tomorrow.
