Hogg blames side
20 January 2008, 12:15 pm
By Tim Sanderson
Edinburgh skipper Ally Hogg lamented his side's lack of precision in Toulouse's 22 as two breakaway tries helped the French giants secure a comfortable 34-10 victory in the European Cup.
Head coach Andy Robinson left out Scotland stars Mike Blair and Ross Ford as well as Test hopeful Nick de Luca for the dead rubber across the channel.

And although Edinburgh were shorn of three of the best players they produced a battling performance against the star-studded French outfit despite conceding a try in the second minute.

Ben Gissing crossed for a consolation try to end Edinburgh's modest campaign on a positive note.

Scotland back-row star Hogg said: "We did a lot of positive things and it was good to get a try at the end. But we damaged ourselves by allowing them to score two tries when we had been on the attack."

Meanwhile, Hogg's Scotland pack colleague Scott MacLeod endured a even more depressing conclusion to his Heineken Cup season with Llanelli.

The injury-hit Welsh outfit were thrashed 41-0 by Clermont at Stradey Park to end their European programme without a single point.
