Dragons full-back Kevin Morgan wants to regain his Wales place despite being omitted from their RBS 6 Nations squad.
Lee Byrne and Jamie Roberts were the players chosen by coach Warren Gatland but the 49-times capped Morgan still has burning international ambitions.
“I’m not stupid,” he said to The Western Mail. “You know yourself when you are playing well and when things aren’t going well for you.
“If I’d have been playing consistently well all season, I’d have obviously been extremely disappointed not to be picked then.
“But I haven’t lived up to the standards that I’ve set myself during my career and I think the other players who have been picked have been playing well, so they deserve their place in the squad.
“I’ve had a patchy season so far. I’ve had a few injuries and my form has been a bit patchy as well. It’s just been one of those frustrating seasons.
“I still want to play for Wales and I’m definitely not going to give up.”
