Davies supports Wales fight

Jonathan Davies has backed Warren Gatland's rejuvenated Wales team to bounce back from the disappointment of the World Cup and mount a respectable RBS 6 Nations challenge in the new year.

Despite their early World Cup exit, the Welsh legend told The Independent on Sunday: "Things are not that bleak and I am confident that the new year is worth looking forward to.

"The return of Ryan Jones to action for the Ospreys last week would have been welcome for Wales, who are desperately short of ball-carriers.

"Their new coach, Warren Gatland, will bring a new maturity and mental toughness."
