Williams linked with Ulster

Matt Williams is expected be unveiled as Ulster coach on Monday, according to reports.

The former Leinster and Scotland boss is believed to have held meetings in Belfast during the week.

Personal terms are thought to have been agreed and the Australian could now take the reins for the province’s trip to Dublin to play Leinster on Boxing Day.

Williams enjoyed a successful stint with Ulster’s Magners League rivals, transforming them into Heineken Cup contenders.

But his 16th-month stint with Scotland was an unhappy one and he was dismissed in April 2005 after recording only three wins from 17 his internationals.
