The Italian Olympic Committee (CONI) will investigate an alleged violation of anti-doping procedure by the Italian Rugby Federation (FIR).
Claudio Perruzza, federal secretary of the Italian Rugby Federation, has been requested to appear on Monday as a witness in CONI's headquarters in Rome to be questioned, regarding a letter he sent to CONI.
In the letter, Perruzza raised concerns about the way FIR had handled cases.
A statement by CONI read: The Anti-Doping Prosecutors' Office of CONI, led by president Ettore Tori, has called Mr Claudio Perruzza to appear on Monday 15 October 2007 to be heard in view of the letter sent by him regarding alleged violations of the anti-doping norms from one of the members of the Italian Rugby Federation.
Federations are obliged to inform CONI of any irregular test by their members.
