Wales international Gareth Delve's World Cup hopes could be over after the Bath back-row forward suffered a serious knee injury.
The 24-year-old is to undergo surgery on a ruptured anterior cruciate ligament in his left knee.
Delve was hurt during Baths Premiership defeat against Leicester last weekend, with recovery time likely to take between five and nine months.
Bath have already ruled Delve out for the rest of the season, while it is understood he has agreed a deal to join their west country rivals Gloucester next term.
He won the last of his four caps against Argentina last summer, and would have been a fringe candidate for Wales World Cup campaign, which kicks off against Canada in Nantes on September 9.
