France captain Fabien Pelous has returned to training, 13 weeks after sustaining the injury that forced him out of Les Bleus' successful RBS 6 Nations Championship campaign.
Pelous hurt his ankle while playing for Toulouse in a Heineken Cup group match against Llanelli Scarlets in mid-December.
Initially, he was only set to be sidelined for a month but the problem took longer than expected to heal.
The lock ended up missing the entire RBS 6 Nations, won by France on Saturday on points difference thanks to their dramatic 46-19 win against Scotland in Paris.
However, Pelous has returned to the field and has been in light training with Toulouse this week.
It should be at least a month before he is back in competitive action.
Pelous' Les Bleus team-mate, Remy Martin, is also on the comeback trail following a virus which made him miss the Six Nations.
He is back in training, but Stade Francais' match against Bourgoin on Saturday may come too soon for the flanker.
