What a magnificent game of rugby at the Millennium Stadium to round off a terrific last weekend for this season's RBS 6 Nations Championship.
The opening 20 minutes was the best rugby Ive seen from Wales in many a year. It was a wonderful spectacle. Both sides attacked and were full of ambition - lots of quick ball allowed that to happen.
Going into the game the Welsh need was greater and that showed. Wales were desperate to get a win under their belts as the World Cup approaches.
That desperation and desire came across. The intensity was there, which it hasnt been all year to a large extent.
In the first four matches of the tournament individuals had shone but the collective hadnt. Saturday was a great all-round performance - the pack was immense.
Alun Wyn Jones has been the find of the tournament so far as Wales are concerned - with his superb athleticism he had a big game on Saturday as did Matthew Rees.
James Hook, of course, had a dream game and was pushed very close by Alun Wyn Jones for the man-of-the-match award in my mind.
Overall, the tournament has been notable for its glorious unpredictability. France have at times shown what they are capable of, but then at other times theyre so frustrating because they just do enough.
Youre never quite sure whats going to happen with the narrowest margins of victory and games turning on the smallest incidents, and the best rugby was saved for the last weekend. We couldnt have asked for any more.
