Murphy called up by Ireland

Geordan Murphy has been called into Ireland's squad for Saturday's RBS 6 Nations clash with Scotland as cover for Denis Hickie.

Hickie suffered a back spasm in training on Thursday morning and pulled out of the session as a precautionary measure.

The Leinster winger's fitness will be monitored by Ireland's medical staff over the next 24 hours.

Andrew Trimble is likely to be promoted to the starting line-up if Hickie fails to recover in time with Murphy filling the vacancy on the bench.
