Bortolami wary of Wales

Italy captain Marco Bortolami has warned his team-mates not to get carried away by the historic win over Scotland ahead of the arrival of Wales in Rome in the RBS 6 Nations.
The 37-17 defeat of the Scots represented the Azzurri’s first ever away win in the Championship and they now face a winless Wales team desperate to avoid the wooden spoon.

Bortolami is well aware that nothing but another top-drawer performance will be enough in next weekend’s clash.

'We are still happy after winning at Murrayfield last Saturday, but now we must come back to reality and keep our focus for next Saturday’s game against Wales,' he said.

'I'm sure the Welsh are coming to Italy with the clear intention to grab their first victory in the Six Nations.”

Wales are bottom of the table after defeats against Ireland, Scotland and France, although Bortolami saw enough in the 32-21 loss in Paris to know the Welsh could have come away with something.

“They played a good game against France, and to be honest they where a bit unlucky,” he added.

“I'm sure it will be a difficult game to win, but we need to win this game because our first away win confirmed we could do it.

“Our fans are waiting for another memorable day and we are going to do everything possible to keep them happy.”
