Jean-Baptiste Elissalde has welcomed the competition for the France scrum-half jersey, insisting it can only be good for the team.
Toulouse star Elissalde is used to battling with Dimitri Yachvili for a starting spot for Les Bleus, but there is now a third element in the equation.
Pierre Mignoni has started France's first two RBS 6 Nations Championship matches - against Italy and Ireland - and has impressed in both games.
Head coach Bernard Laporte is set to ring the changes for the game against Wales next week, so Yachvili or Elissalde will get their chance at last.
'I get on with Dimitri and I have always got on well with Pierre Mignoni because we were together in the youth set-up,' said Elissalde.
'There is no problem, we know there are three people for two places. The competition is beneficial because we are all pulling in the same direction.'
