Italy target Scotland
13 February 2007, 4:45 pm
Italy are heading to Scotland for their next game in the RBS 6 Nations full of optimism after their brave but ultimately futile effort against England.
The world champions claimed an unconvincing 20-7 victory at Twickenham, with the Azzurri receiving most of the plaudits afterward.

Italy veteran Alessandro Troncon was honoured as the man of the match, and Italian Rugby Federation president Giancarlo Dondi said: 'Now we are looking forward to the Murrayfield game against Scotland.

We are dreaming of claiming our first away win, but that will be hard as the Scots are hard to beat at their home.

But we mostly go with a positive frame of mind and will see what happens.

Then we are playing the last two matches against Wales and Ireland at home, and I hope my boys can give us at least one win.'

Dondi was proud of the Italians effort in London, but also frustrated.

'I'm satisfied with my teams performance, especially in the second half, he said.
Certainly, England don't need help from the referee as they are one of the best teams in the world.

I felt a bit odd after the game had finished.

I saw a few things from the referee that were not quite right.

I know in the end, England maybe deserved to win but on a few occasions, they were helped by the referees bad decisions.'
